The Rev. Derek Parker is a minister who wears multiple hats. In addition to serving as Pastor to the Universalist Church of Eldorado, Ohio, Derek also serves as Chaplain to the Friends Fellowship retirement community (Richmond, Indiana), and as Interim Director of Open Arms Ministries (a Wayne County non-profit providing rent and utility assistance to families in crisis). Derek is also a doctoral student in Religion and the Humanities at Harrison Middleton University of Tempe, Arizona.

We will explore the life and ministry of Rev. Athalia Lizzie Johnson Irwin (1862-1915). Although she was a woman of many firsts, her name is frequently omitted when compiling a list of female Universalist ministers. We will speak her name again and give tribute to the power of Universalism to shape a truly remarkable life. She will no longer be the woman history forgot.
